6 Days – Fetch A Friend

Don’t forget: Fetch A Friend is MAY 9TH!

Make time to adopt your soon to be best friend – you will never regret it!  You will save a life and that life will save you.  A furry animal is the only thing that will love you more than it loves itself.

Dogs {or any other furry animal} are not our whole life, but they make our lives •whole•

My furry friend, who is now my best friend 🙂 Adopt your new, furry best friend to have this happiness!

I hope you are able to make it to Fetch A Friend on SATURDAY MAY 9TH to fetch yourself a best friend!

The Happy Project – Spread The Happy

Happiness is an unspoken quality of life.  If you are happy it shows through your emotions, your features.  We do not often talk about the things that make us happy, we just see them happening.  But, I would like to talk about it.  What makes you happy?  Unhappy?  Are you ever perfectly content with your life or do you need something to keep that happiness going?

A group of friends and I are spreading happiness and we need your help!  We researched the quality of happiness throughout life.  And we are looking for that stage in life where you do not constantly need more and more to continue to be happy, we are looking for something that creates a long-lasting state of happiness.

We interviewed young children, asking them what made them happy. Most said being with family or the simple things in life, such as “scoring a goal in lacrosse.” Then we asked teens, which is shown in this video. They went more in depth, explaining in detail what makes them happy. And last we asked the elderly, who told us that what makes them happy is making others happy.

You are able to watch what we received from the teens on YouTube at: The Happy Project

A similar project was done in 2014 called The Global Happiness Project (this is a completed project).

If you have something that makes you incandescently happy (really really happy), comment on this blog or on my YouTube Video (link above).  My group would love to hear about the thing that makes you happy!

The Ville

The perfect place to go for DIY project ideas is Uptown Westerville.  This vintage looking town is full of different shops; antique shops, record shops, music shops, shops with their own diy projects and many many more cute little places to go to.  This little area has tons of multicultural food places to eat at!  And let me personally tell you that you will be hungry from shopping at these beautiful shops all day and these food places are mouthwatering and delicious (there’s even a Greater’s)!

A little vintage shop contains old cameras, records, homemade t-shirts, vintage clothes, etc. (pictures below)

Another shop has locally made merchandise, such as Ohio shirts, Miami University shirts, bracelets, earrings, etc. (pictures below).  This shop is one of my personal favorites 🙂

If you have already created something and need to paint it, then this next place is perfect for you.  Annie Sloan created this paint: Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  The employees at this shop in Westerville know what they are taking about when it comes to using the paint and what types to use with certain types of wood.  A great store with great employees to help!

The last store I went to is another antique shop with tons of vintage things to choose from (and they have a cat waking around)!!

Uptown Westerville, also known as “The Ville,” is a beautiful place to go to, especially when there is good weather!  I highly recommend you take a visit here to help if you’re have DIY idea block because you will get tons of ideas!

Fetch a Furry Friend!

Fetch a Friend is an organization that makes adopting a perfect furry friend, just for you, a possibility.  On May 9th, 10 am — 7 pm, Fetch a Friend is hosting an Adopt-A-Thon at the Ohio State Expo Center (Lausche Building) – building index #1.

So Why Adopt?

  1. You are saving the life of two pets (and a family).  When you adopt a pet you save that pet and because you adopt them, you leave open space for another homeless dog to be able to take.  And you save your family because you now have another furry family member added to the family, which equals more love to go around!
  2. When you adopt, the pet you buy is healthy.  They are examined, vaccinated and sprayed/neutered before you adopt them.  Shelters and rescuers also check the pet’s behaviors to make sure they are perfect for each family.
  3. Adopting a pet from a shelter is less expensive than buying a pet from a pet store and in many shelters, the animals are already vaccinated, sprayed/neutered and examined before you buy them.  So you can keep more money in your pocket, but still get the perfect, lovable pet for you and your family.
  4. Adopting a pet will add more love in your home and life.  Pets have been proven to be psychologically, emotionally and physically beneficial to your health.
